Samuel Fritz, Biography
Throughout his 22-year teaching career, Sam has worked in middle and high schools as a teacher, department chair, and trainer. As district- level trainer of teachers and administrators, Sam facilitates workshops in leadership, best practice, classroom management, technology integration, and teacher effectiveness. As part of his work at Center Grove Community Schools, Sam serves as a curriculum designer and lead facilitator for “Teacher Leadership Exploration and Development (tLead) Academy. Teachers selected for tLead Academy, spend four-days in workshops to learn impactful leadership and communication skills to develop more effective collaborative teams. Through tLead academy, nearly 100 teachers in Center Grove Community Schools, have been trained in this intensive leadership curriculum over the past 4 years, to enhance the work within the Center Grove PLC model.
Sam has been named Center Grove Middle School Central’s “teacher of the year” twice in his 13 years as a teacher in Center Grove Community Schools . He is a repeat presenter at state and national conferences on topics including; large ensemble best practice techniques, creating collaborative teams, implementing effective team strategies, teacher effectiveness, using proficiency scales, and 1-1 technology application in the classroom. In 2015, Sam was a presenter at the American Middle Level Educators National Conference on applying highly effective teaching techniques in the large performance ensemble.
Currently, Sam is the Director of Bands and Music Department Chairperson at Center Grove Middle School Central in Greenwood, Indiana. He is also a member of the school’s professional development design team, PLC leadership team, technology team, and is a district level
